Betty S. from Alabama stitched not one but ELEVEN quilts…one for each of the senior football players. She combined elements from our Football Quilt and Cheerleader Quilt to create the quilts. Each quilt was personalized with the player’s number on the helmet. Iron-on transfers were used for the photo. Betty’s friend embroidered the State Champions and player’s name appliques.
Betty also created a framed collage for the coach. She repeated the football and helmet patterns used on the players’ quilts and included photos of the team and cheerleaders. In this case the appliques were glued to the background rather than stitched. As Betty noted, our patterns are not just for quilts.
