Annie F. from San Rafael, California shared four wall quilts: Myrtle Turtle, Amanda Panda, Up and Away, and The Spotted Pony. She hand appliqued them for the nursery for her baby girl due in September ’03. We especially like her use of Winnie the Pooh fabrics in the turtle design. This is a great way to fussy cut a fabric. Annie chose to use a single stalk of bamboo, rather than three, for Amanda Panda. Up and Away features pastel fabrics and a small bunny as its passenger. Our Spotted Pony design was adapted for her little girl’s room. The bear was omitted and the horse was stitched in pastels. Annie has been quilting for two years and stitches all of her quilts by hand. She has made Hawaiian quilts and practices the Japanese needlework technique of sashiko.
Great job Annie!
